Q

What is a Product Backlog? Pt 2

A
    1. Evolves as the product and work environment evolves.
    1. Its dynamic, constantly changing to identify what the product needs to be appropriate, competitive, and useful.

Q

What does a product backlog list?

A
  1. Features

13
Q

Once the increment has been introduced to the market how does this effect the product backlog list?

A
  1. The product backlog list grows with the feedback from the marketplace.

Q

What is Product backlog refinement?

A
  1. The act of adding detail, estimates, and order to items in the product backlog.
    1. It’s an ongoing process whereby the product owner and the dev team collab on the details of the product backlog items.

16
Q

Who decides how and when refinement is done?

What capacity of the dev team is taken up during refinement?

How often can items be updated?

A
  1. The scrum team decides how and when refinement is done.
  2. Refinement usually consumes no more than 10% of the capacity of the dev team.
  3. At any time by the product owner.
17
Q

What is the difference between a higher ordered item and a lower ordered item?

A

Clarity and detail; there is more in the higher ordered items.

18
Q

Which product backlog items occupy the dev team on the upcoming sprint?

A
  1. Refined items that can be reasonably “done” within the sprint timebox (usually one month).
    1. These items are deemed “ready” for selection in a sprint planning.
  2. The dev team is responsible for the estimates.
19
Q

How often can total work remaining to reach a goal be summed?

Who tracks the total work remaining?

How frequently are the checks?

A
  1. Whenever.
  2. Product owner
  3. Atleast every sprint review
20
Q

What does the person do to assess progress?

Who can know of the assessment?

A
  1. A comparison of work remaining at previous sprint reviews to assess progress toward completing project work by the desired time for the goal.
  2. All stakeholders.
21
Q

What is a Sprint Backlog?

A

The SET OF PRODUCT BACKLOG ITEMS selected for the sprint, plus a plan for delivering the product increment and realizing the sprint goal!

A forecast by the dev team about what functionality will be in the next increment and the work needed to deliver it into a “done” increment.

22
Q

How does the dev team ensure continuous improvement?

How detailed is a sprint backlog?

A
  1. By including at least one high priority process improvement identified in the previous retrospective meeting.
  2. A plan with enough detail that changes in progress can be understood in the daily scrum.
23
Q

Who modifies the sprint backlog and how often is it modified?

When does the sprint backlog emerge?

A
  1. The dev team makes changes throughout the sprint.

4. During the sprint.

24
Q

How is sprint progress monitored, who is responsible for it and how do they do it?

A

At any time during the sprint the total work remaining in the sprint backlog can be summed.
The dev team tracks this work at least for every daily scrum to project likelihood of achieving sprint goal.
By tracking remaining work throughout the sprint the dev team manages its progress.

25
Q

What is an increment?

A

The sum of all product backlog items completed during a sprint and the value of the increments of all previous sprints.

An increment is a body of inspectable “done” work that supports empiricism at the end of the sprint.

The increment is a step toward a vision or goal and must be in USEABLE condition whether the product owner decides to release it or not.

26
Q

What does it mean for an increment to be “done”?

A

it must be useable and meet the scrum teams definition of done.

27
Q

How does the Scrum Master achieve Artifact Transparency?

A

By working with the product owner, dev team and other involved parties to understand if the artifacts are completely transparent.

The scrum master must help everyone apply the most appropriate practices in the absence of complete transparency.

28
Q

How can a Scrum Master identify incomplete transparency?

A

By

  1. inspecting artifacts,
  2. sensing patterns,
  3. listening closely to what is being said and
  4. detecting differences between expected and real results.
29
Q

In summary the Scrum Masters job is what?

What does it usually involve?

A
  1. To work with the scrum team and or to increase the transparency of artifacts.
  2. It involves:
  3. 1 Learning,
  4. 2 Convincing
  5. 3 change
30
Q

What is the Definition of “Done”?

A

A shared understanding of what it means for work to be complete which ensures transparency. That is the definition of “done” and its used to assess when work is complete on the product increment.

31
Q

Whats the definition of dones Impact on the Dev Team?

A

Guides the dev team in knowing how many backlog items can be chosen during sprint planning.

32
Q

Purpose of sprint with regard to “done”?

A

The purpose of a sprint is to deliver increments of potentially releasable functionality that adhere to the scrum teams current definition of done.
