What assertions does empiricism make?
- Knowledge comes from experience
2. Make decisions based on what is known
What are the pillars of the empirical process?
Transparency
Inspection
Adaptation
What is Transparency?
- Making significant aspects of the process visible to those responsible for the outcome.
- Defined by a common standard so observers share a common understanding.
In Scrum what is inspected and why?
- Scrum artifacts and Sprint goals must be frequently inspected to detect undesirable variances.
When are inspections most beneficial?
When done by skilled inspectors during work
In Scrum when do we adapt and who determines it?
- One or more aspects of a process deviate outside acceptable limits, and that the resulting product will be unacceptable.
- Inspector
What can be adapted, and how soon should adaptations take place?
Processes or materials being processed can be adapted.
ASAP, to minimize further deviation
What are the 4 formal events for inspection and adaptation?
- Sprint Planning
- Daily Scrum
- Sprint Review
- Sprint Retrospective
