A

24/7 the RAF has been operating QRA from RAF coningsby and RAF lossimouth to protect the UK’s airspace from enemy’s and unidentified aircraft. Over the recent months many russian military planes have been flying in the UK’s area of interest without submitting flight plans making them a very dangerous threat to the UK and other planes in the sky.

Home - covid aviation task force

  • Thousands of troops have been put on high readiness and standby to help.
  • 150 military personnel have been trained to drive oxygen tankers to support the NHS
  • scientists from the defence science and technology lab have been working with public health England to understand the virus and it’s spread
  • flying supplies to areas that need it

Away - operation shader

A

Operation shader is continuing to combat Daesh in Iraq and eastern Syria and has been since 2014.
Since 2014 the RAF have struck Daesh more than 1300 times in Iraq and 260 times in Syria.
Over 5.5 million people have been freed from Daesh’s rule.
The UK is trying to secure peace in the middle East.

Away - operation Azotize

A

From may to August 2020 the RAF had typhoons based in Lithuania to support with QRA as part of NATO’s Baltic air policing mission. The RAF worked alongside the Spanish and French air forces.

Away - Icelandic air policing mission

A

As Iceland do not have an air force Icelandic air policing is an operation conducted by NATO to patrol Iceland’s air space. NATO requested that allies periodically deploy fighter aircraft keflavik air base to provide protection. RAF typhoons from the UK where there between November and December 2019

Away - operation newcombe

A

Since 2013 operation newcombe has been active. It is a British non combat operation to support french led operation Barkhane in Mali. The RAF have been involved since 2013 and currently have Chinooks based there which have flown over 2000 hours, moving over 1000 tones of freight, and moving over 12,000 passenger’s.

Home - exercise point blank

A

16 RAF typhoons flew alongside 20 USAF f15’s and 2 RAF f35’s in a training mission over the North sea in may 2020. The aircraft were from 10 different stations across the UK. Working with NATO allies helps us to share tactics, training and procedure’s.

Away - exercise bersama lima

A

Troops and aircraft from Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and the UK meet in Malaysia to conduct a series of training to learn new methods from each other.
