What were your last 2 significant jobs and what did you do there?
- I worked at zoutorias fish and chip shop. Here I took orders from customers over the phone and in person and out them into a computer system. I also organised the kitchen to ensure it ran smoothly
- I’ve also worked at IKEA Southampton. Here I am a sales coworker and first aider. I communicate with customers and staff in person and over the phone to ensure the best shopping experience. I use a series of computer systems and my problem solving skills move stock around to maximize profits and effectiveness of locations. As a first aider I have to work calmly and professionally under pressure.
Tell us about your time at college
I studied maths, physics, geography and did an additional GCSE in astronomy. I visited the large hadron collider in Switzerland to further my studies outside of the lesson in particle physics. Outside of lessons I was also part of the robotics team. During this we designed, built and programmed a robot to compete in a challenge
Have you done much traveling?
I have traveled quite a lot around the world and around the UK with both friends and family. Some of my favourite trips have been: to Egypt to see the pyramid’s, to Switzerland to learn about particle physics at the site of the large hadron collider, to Wales where I went on the UK’s longest and fastest zip line, and Portugal where I enjoyed the sun and the beach.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love spending time with friends and family. Whether that’s going round to see them or going out for a meal. I really enjoy seeing films and gaming with friends. I like to keep active even if it’s only going for a walk out in the forest or going to the gym for a session.
What are you doing to keep fit?
During lockdown I was doing daily exercise to keep me moving. This would be either a run in the forest or a bike ride. I would also do some home workouts to gain a little muscle. Now that gyms are back open I go multiple times a week and switch between cardio and weight machines
What sporting achievements have you accomplished?
During my time at school I tried my hardest to get involved in as many sports as possible. However one of my proudest achievements was when I rode round the entire coast of the Isle of Wight including up the steepest hills on the island. The total ride was over 70 miles.
