135 Oxygen Requirements
Pilot will use oxygen when:
- 10000’-12000’ for over 30 min
- Over 12000’

Passenger Briefing
- Smoking
- Use of safety belts (Mention that federal regulation require it)
- Door operation/exits
- Location of first aid/survival equipment
- Fie extinguisher
- Approaching and exiting helicopter safely (rotor avoidance)
VFR 135 Minimum Altitude
300’ over congested areas
135 Pilot Minimum Hours
500 hrs total time
100 hrs XC
25 hrs night XC
135 Flight Hour Limits
8 hrs per day
500 hours per quarter
800 hours per 2 consecutive quarters
1400 hours in a calendar year
135 Duty Day / Rest Periods
14 hr max duty day
10 hr min rest period
13 (24hr) rest periods in each quarter
Exceeding Daily Flight Time Limits
- Less than 30 minutes over: 11 hours rest period
- 30 to 60 minutes over: 12 hours rest period
- Over 60 minutes: 16 hours rest period
VFR visibility requirements
1/2 mile day
1 mile night
Must retain visual reference to surface
TOPS Limitations
Visibility enhancing lights
Bank 30 deg pitch 10 deg
Avoidance of HV curve
Min 3 mile visibility (1 mile at 80KIAS for transient situations)
No perception of “thrill ride”
Minimum altitude 500’
Part 91 Night Definitions
Logging night time: End of evening civil twilight to beginning of morning civil twilight.
Passenger Currency and Carriage: 1 hour after sunset to 1 hour before sunrise.
Position lights: Sunset to sunrise.
