    Examples:

    Examples:
  • Equine: nematodes, cestodes, trematodes and bots
  • Small animals: nematodes and cestodes

  • Horse eats grass
  • The eggs hatch in the gut
  • Larvae mature into adult worms
  • Mature worms lay eggs

  • Segments passed in faeces
  • Eggs released from the segment into the environment
  • Eggs eaten by intermediate host
  • Immature tapeworm develops n the intermediate host
  • Intermediate host ingested by final host
  • Scolex attaches to the intestinal wall
  • Adult tapeworm in small intestines of final host
