differentiate small from large parapsoriasis en plaque

A

Rare eruptions with worldwide occurrence.
■ Twotypesarerecognized:small-plaquePP(SPP)andlarge-plaquePP(LPP).
■ In SPP (ICD-10:L41.3), lesions are small (< 5 cm), round to oval, or linear mostly on the trunk:“digitate
dermatosis”(Fig. 3 21), slightly inf ltrated, yellowish, or awn-colored patches. Minimal scaling,
asymptomatic, or mild pruritus.
■ In LPP (ICD-10:L41.4), lesions are oval or irregularly shaped patches and > 5 cm (Fig. 3 22). Minimal
scaling, with and without atrophy. May be poikilodermatous.
■ SPP does not progress to mycosis ungoides (MF). LPP, by contrast, exists on a continuum with
patch-stage MF and can progress to overt MF.
■ Treatmentconsistso topicalglucocorticoids,phototherapy,narrowband311-nmUVphototherapy,
or PUVA
