Paraphrasing Flashcards
What is paraphrasing and why is it important?
Paraphrasing is pulling out information from your topic of purpose and then putting it in your understanding. It is important since it is a very easy way to record and read information without having to jot down a lot of notes and words, also it is fast.
What are the paraphrasing steps (in order)
CHUNK, READ, THINK, AND WRITE ( Cats Run The World )
How does your purpose change your paraphrase?
My purpose changes my paraphrase because if I’m writing about what dogs eat, I wouldn’t add anything not related to that in my paraphrase. After all, then it wouldn’t be a strong paraphrase and it would be boring and incorrect. You’d ask yourself this question if the paraphrase is along the lines of my purpose in the THINK step of paraphrasing.
