fantasies are not considered disorders unless they are intense, recurrent, and interfere with daily life
most occur in men, but sadism, masochism and pedophilia may occur in women
pedophilic
sexual fantasies/urges and behaviors involving sexual acts with prepubescent children <13
person is 16+ and at least 5 yrs older
MC type
frotteuristic disorder
sexual arousal from touching or rubbing against a non consenting person
voyeuristic
sexual arousal from observing an unsuspecting nude, or disrobing individual (with binoculars)
exhibitionistic
sexual arousal from exposure of one’s genitals to an unsuspecting erson
sexual masochism
sexual arousal from act of being humiliated, beaten, bound or made to suffer
sexual sadism
sexual arousal from physical or psychological suffering of another person
fetishistic
sexual arousal from use of nonliving objects (shoes, panty hose) or non-genital body parts
transvestic
sexual arousal from cross-dressing (wearing womens clothing)
paraphilia treatment
psychotropic meds if comorbid psych illness
antiandrogens, long-acting gonadotropin releasing hormones and SSRIs and naltrexone to decrease sex drive
