PARAMETRIC TESTS Flashcards
Z-TEST
used to compare a sample mean to a known population mean when the population standard deviation is known. The sample size must be large.
ONE-GROUP T-TEST
compares the mean of a single sample to a predetermined value.
PAIRED STUDENT T-TEST:
compares the means of two groups when each observation in one group can be paired with an observation in the other group.
TWO-GROUP STUDENT T-TEST
compares the means of two independent groups. Used to investigate differences between two populations.
ONE-WAY ANOVA
compares the means of three or more independent groups. Determines if there is a statistically significant difference between the group means.
TWO-WAY ANOVA
analyzes the effects of two independent variables on a dependent variable. Used to see how the variables interact and influence the outcome.
