NON-PARAMETRIC TESTS Flashcards
SIGN TEST
compares the medians of two related groups (like before-and-after measurements) when data is not normally distributed.
WILCOXON SIGNED RANK TEST
similar to Sign Test, but considers magnitude of differences.
MEDIAN TEST
best for comparing two independent groups when the data is nominal scale or when the distributions are not similar.
KRUSKAL-WALLIS RANK TEST
best for comparing three or more independent groups when the data is ordinal or interval scale and the assumptions of ANOVA are not met.
FRIEDMAN TEST
compares the medians of three or more related groups (like repeated measures) when data is not normally distributed.
PERMUTATION TEST
uses resampling to assess the significance of a statistic, often for comparing groups or testing hypotheses.
COCHRAN TEST
compares the variances of two or more related groups when data is not normally distributed.
SQUARED RANK TEST FOR VARIANCES
compares the variances of two independent groups when data is not normally distributed.
SPEARMAN’S RANK CORRELATION COEFFICIENT TEST
measures the strength and direction of the association between two ranked variables.
