Parametric and Non-Parametric Tests of Independence Flashcards
1
Q
test of corelation (r)
A
t test
t = r*(n-2)^0,5/(1-r^2)^0,5
issue = big data will almost always be significant
2
Q
spearman rank corellation coeficient (rs)
A
non-parametric test of correlation
corelation based on ranked values (median)
- we rank all of the data if there is a tie we make an average of theese and dicrie it as the same rank
we use different rs but the same t test for correlation
3
Q
test of independence
A
right tail only. we seek if data are independent
