Paradigms/Disruptive Technology Flashcards
Paradigms
Paradigms establish boundaries and provide rules for success
Paradigm Effect
Paradigms act as filters. They cause one to see that which fits the paradigm, and perhaps ignore data that doesn’t fit the model
Going back to Zero
When a paradigm shift occurs, the playing field is leveled so that everyone starts from ground zero. Past success guarantees nothing
Six Key Observations
Paradigms are common
- -useful
- -sometimes your paradigm becomes the paradigm, when you reject all other paradigms that is called paradigm paralysis
- -the people who create new paradigms are usually outsiders
- -people who create them must be courageous, have faith, trust their judgment, and willing to take risks, paradigm pioneers
- -you can choose to change your rules and regulations, your paradigm
Paradigm flexibility allows you to see change as an _________ rather than a threat.

Sustaining Technology
Produces an improved product customers are eager to buy
Entry barrier

First-mover advantage
