- miracles were not unordinary but an act of god
- common sense, more advanced today people with disabilities, mental health, illness were outcasts
- Jesus would cure evil by performing miracles therefore he must be the son of god because gods reign would have no evil

- gods unconditional love
- his commitment to the poor/outcasts
- complete control of the power of sin and evil
