A comparison or analogy, with a hidden story
why were they used
used when issues arose, in order to address the problem and help people know what to do
Purpose of parables
> hide secrets of the kingdom from some and reveal them to others> to understand you have to listen carefully and this increases the chances the person will make a change>Jesus used parables to illustrate profound divine truths>teachings easy to remember due to ‘sits in leben’.> graphic- therefor more memorable> help us understand the Kingdom of God and passage there
