Gender divide

Woman’s events have a lower profile than mens as they get less media coverage. Fewer fame ale models to inspire younger generations

Less media coverage also means less sponsorship available for women’s sport meaning fewer opportunities and less money for waomen to do sport at a higher level

Outdated and stupid attitudes about some things being ‘woman activities’ or ‘men activities’ still exist

Many Muslim women keep bodies covered up - swimming

Culture you grow up in might have an effect- friends and family play a sport your more likely too

Racism and racial abuse used to be a huge problem. Campaigns against racism such as the let’s kick racism out of football campaign have helped bring the problem of racism into the media. Unfortunesly incidents still happen

A

Sponsorship deals means companies can associate their name with the prestige of very successful sportspeople and teams. Effective afvertising helping sponsor make more money.

These deals mean big money for sport - development eg new stadium. Benefits players and spectators

Players could get good wages and make it full time. Benefits everyone because they’ll perform better

Sometimes money only abiaikable for top players and teams so only benefits the elite not the sport as a whole

Media pay for rights to cover sporting events which provides investment for sports to develop at lower levels

Makes more people aware and may play

Coverage of elite creases role models and inspires

Players superstars-hounded by media and private lives

So much power over sport that they’ll change things such as number of games timings of matches risks injuries to players through lack of rest night mean spevatators miss a game due to timings
Rules may be changes eg in tennis tiebreaker set brought in to make matches shorter

More fans watching on tv means fewer buying tickets

A

Being honest, sticking to the rules and treating your opponents with respect

No rubbing in if you win
No sulking if you lose
Follow unwritten rules - eg in cycling is someone has a mechanical problem with their bike other riders don’t take advantage
Batsman might choose to ‘walk’ if they think they were caught out even if umpires ruled them not out
