Q

What is an aneurysm ?

A

Swelling of the artery → atheromas form - damage and weakens arteries.

Blood pressure increases

Inner layers forced through elastic layer

Results in haemorrhage (bleeding)

Q

How do blood clots form?

A
  1. Atheroma forms
  2. Atheroma plauque ruptures endothelium
  3. Damages artery wall leaving rough surface
  4. Platelets and fibrin accumulate

This can cause o,plate blockage of artery
