Why do you want to be a doctor?
A
-Idea of having responsibility for patients wellbeing
Two sides of a coin- appreciate that this brings warmth-having an observable impact on patient lives
- Upper GI team on wards
-Something only achievable with medical degree

Why not nursing
A
-Intellectual challenge- not to discredit nursing- this is a position in itself
Nursing is more of a practical side of medicine- recognising basic needs of patient
-I enjoy breaking down problems- mountain biking example
-Why I’m interested in case-based learning

Where will you be in 10 years?
A
- Will have completed medical school
- Hopefully will have also completed foundation training
- Also will have hopefully completed specialty training
I’d like to still have the time to keep up my hobbies like cycling and playing guitar

What’s your biggest weakness?
A
- Confidence
-there have been opportunities that I’ve missed because I’ve been cautious of what other people think. - I have developed this skill by putting myself forward for things like house drama and house choir- doing the winning skit.
-important for making critical decisions
