What are the causes of acute pancreatitis?

{ Idiopathy, Gall stones, Ethanol, Trauma, Steroids, Mumps, Autoimmune, Scorpio Sting, Hyperlipidaemia/ Hypothetmia/ Hypercalcaemia, ERCP/ Emboli, Drugs (diuretics/ azathiopine) }
What will be the most obvious sign from blood test for acute pancreatitis?
Increase serum amylase
What diagnostic test could be done for Pancreatic conditions?
CT scan
What is the sign for chronic pancreatitis?
Steatorrhoea (greasy stool),
Epigastric pain, weight loss
What are the signs for acute pancreatitis?
Epigastric pain, vomit, nausea, abdominal distension, bruising “Cullen sign” in abdominal, bruising at umbilical “Grey turner” sign.
What are the signs for pancreatic cancer?
“Sister Mary Joseph nodules” (red)- metastatic nodule, jaundice, weigh loss
Treatment for pancreatic cancer.
Palliative chemotherapy
ERCP To widen duct and relieve obstruction e.g. Stent
