India’s Panchamrit Commitments - Cop26
Absolute Goals -
1. 500GW of Non fossil fuel energy by 2030. (India already has 750GW solar energy apart from other sources).
2.Reduce total projected Carbon emissions by 1 billion tonnes between present day and 2030.
3.Net Zero Carbon emissions by 2070.
Percentage Goals -
1.Source 50% of total energy needs from renewable sources by 2030. Initial target was 40% which has been achieved. Currently at 43%.
2.Decreasing the Carbon intensity of India’s economy by 45% by 2030 based on 2005 levels.
Absolute Goals - 1
500 GW Renewable Energy by 2030. Achieved.
Absolute goal 2 -
Reducing 1 billion tonne of projectex Carbon emissions between today and 2030 ( working).
Absolute goal 3 -
Achieving Net 0 Carbon Emissions by 2070
Percentage goals 1 -
50% dependence of total power on renewable - 43% right now.
Percentage Goal 2 -
Reducing Carbon intensity of India by 45% by 2030 compared to 2005 levels. (Earlier was 35% but achieved so raised to 45%).
