UNEP ; India - 42nd Amendment Act, 51A(g), 48(A). Wildlife Protection Act 1972. Indian Forest Act of British already in use. Wildlife protection was shifted to Concurrent list from State List.
Water Act 1974
Came two years after Wildlife Prevention Act. in 1972. Forest Conservation Act also came in 1980 but all failed to curb deforestation and environmental exploitation.
EPA 1986 significance?
After water act’s failure. Local communities involved. Joint Forest Patrol etc included in new Act EPA. Finally Successful.
