What is CRM ?
Focusing on the behavioral skills and using them to effectively communicate and manage all available resources.
What is TEM?
refers to the process of managing operational threats and human errors.
promotes vigilance versus complacency by implementing an active, continuous process of identifying and preparing for threats and identifying and repairing errors at the earliest opportunity.
CRM Skills Include:
-Situational Awareness
-Leadership Effectiveness
-Planning and Decision Making
-Communication
-Monitor/Cross Check
-Workload Management
-Automation Management
What kind of threats do we face?
Personal, Environmental, Technical
The goal of the CRM/TEM program remains singularly focused
Maximize flight safety by minimizing incidents and accidents caused by human factors
What should we ask when there’s a non-normal?
Whose flying the airplane?
Whose handling the non normal?
Does it effect safety of flight?
What are threats ?
Operational events that are outside of the crewmember’s influence, increase operational complexity, and require increased attention to maintain safety margins.
What are Errors?
Deviations from desired performance due to neglected or improper procedures.
What is an Undesired Aircraft State? (UAS)
A position, attitude, condition, or configuration of an aircraft that reduces safety margins. It is a safety-compromising state that results from ineffective error management
What are the two types of errors?
Give examples?
Intentional : Deviation from SOPs knowledgably
Unintentional: Accidental, misinterpretation, or misinput
How many CRM/TEM Skills are there?

How many briefing items are there?

Which is the most important CRM/TEM Skill?
Communication,
You can have a great plan, have effective leaders, situational awareness, automation management and everything else, but if you’re not communicating it won’t go very far.
Other than communication what is the most important CRM/TEM Skills?
Leadership Effectiveness, it increases situational awareness, planning/decision making, workload management, and automation management by proxy.
OR
Monitor/crosscheck, if we have a great plan and great communication but we don’t make sure things are going into effect, then we can still see a quick diversion into a UAS.
What are non-normal events ?
When managing irregular situations, Untied uses CRM techniques to mitigate threats, repair errors, and prevent an undesired aircraft state
