What is Binder/Clear Resin?
Film forming medium, substrate protection and durability.
What is Pigment?
Colour, UV Protection, Substrate Protection
What is a Solvent/Thinner/Reducer?
Reduces and controls viscosity during production and application.
3 Parts to Munsell’s Colour System
Value
Hue
Chroma
Value
Lightness or Darkness. The level of light reflected is measured on a scale of 0-10 between Pure Black (0) and Pure White(10). Pure Grey is NEUTRAL.
Hue
Name of Colour - hue is the actual colour on the colour spectrum.
Hue is indicated by letters; B for Blue, PB for Purple-Blue, P for Purple etc.
Chroma
Degree of strength of the colour. This is the unit step of Neutral Grey to the Maximum Strength of the Colour. The level of which hue reaches its max chroma (furthest away from Netrual) is called the Home Level.

Primary Colour
Main Colours on Spectrum
Secondary Colour
Result of Mixing Primary Colours
Tertiary Colours
Result of Mixing Primary and Secondary Colours.
Tints
Light values that are made by mixing a colour with white. Pink is a tint of red.
Shade
Dark values that made by mixing a colour with black. Maroon is a shade of red. Navy is a shade of blue.
