A
  • to treat fever at hypothalamus
  • causes dilation of peripheral blood vessels to enable dissipation of heat through sweat
  • used to treat fever and relieve pain
  • adverse effects uncommon but OD possible

  • acts as anticoagulant, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic
  • adverse effects: GI distress, bleeding
  • may increase effects of PO hypoglycemics
  • do not give to children (raise syndrome)

  • used for mild-moderate pain and to reduce inflammation
  • adverse effects: GI upset, acute renal failure
