A
- Where is the pain?
- Does the pain come and go or is it constant?
- What is the pain like? Dull, sharp or shooting?
- What brings on the pain and what makes it better?
- Are there any other symptoms?
- Are you taking any other medication?

When should you refer pain to the pharmacist (7)
A
- Pain is severe and/or prevents movement
- Pain has started suddenly and is not helped by OTC analgesics
- Recurring pain
- shortness of breath
- bleeding
- fainting
- weightloss

What treatments is there for pain (4)
A
- Oral analgesics for example paracetamol
- Topical analgesics; for example diclofenac gel
- Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs; for example ibuprofen
- Other treatments; for example ice or heat compression
