What are the primary affecting neurotransmitters ?
EAA’s eg. Glutamate
Peptides
What does the gate control theory state?
Devised by Patrick wall and Ronald melzack
Pain is a function of the balance between the information travelling into spinal cord from large and small nerve fibres.
If relative amount of activity is greater in large nerve fibres there will be little / no pain
