Localized on the skin , surface of the body
Visceral
Poorly localized such as with internal organs
Somatic
Non-localized, originates in muscles, bone, nerves, blood vessels, and supporting tissue
Neuropathic
Frequently caused by a tumor, involves nerve pathway injury or compression
WHO step one of pain management
Aspirin, Tylenol, NSAIDs
WHO step two of pain management
Tylenol or aspirin plus
Codeine, hydrocodone, oxycodone, dihydrocodeine, tramadol, plus or minus adjuvants
WHO step three of pain management
Morphine, hydromophone, methadone, but no, oxycodone, plus or minus non-opioid analgesics or plus or minus adjuvants
Metastic pain management
Fentanyl patches for sustained-release are recommended
Biphosphonate
Inhibitors of bone resorption, acting by inducing osteoclast apoptosis and thereby preventing the development of cancer induced bone lesions
Risedronate
Alendronate
Ibandronate
