Q

How is PDB treated?

A

Bisphosphonates inhibit bone resorption reducing symptoms (Adcal)

Asymptomatic to be observed only

Analgesia if pain, treatment begins

What are the 5 bone secondary cancers (metastases)

A

breast, lung, prostate, kidney, thyroid

18
Q

How are x rays usefulin treating bone cancer

A

Shows bone structure, lysis/sclerosis, but must show whole long bone

19
Q

How are isotope bone scans usefulin treating bone cancer/pagets

A

Not for structure but highlights metabolic activity
