Refers to the legal ownership of published material. Any writing a play, an essay, a pamphlet, a website- is the intellectual property of the person who wrote it. If, in your paper, you borrow that property by quoting, summarizing, or paraphrasing, you must give credit to the original author.
Define Plagiarism
It can occur in different ways. For example, some students make poor choices and turn in another student’s work as their own. Plagiarism may also be committed by oversight; a student may have forgotten where he or she found the particular material or even that the material was not his or her own.
