What is coeliac disease
A condition that occurs when the body reacts to a protein called gluten found in cereals such as wheat and barley.
What happens when the body can’t tolerate gluten (e.g. Found in cereals such as wheat and barley)
When the body can’t tolerate this protein it means that the villi in the small intestine aren’t formed properly.
What happens as a result of the villi in the small intestine not formimg properly
As a result of this, the individual will not be able to absorb nutrients properly
