Doses of Ceftriaxone

A

1g in 9.5mL water for injection (IV)
1g in 3.5mL lignocaine 1% (IM)
Paeds - 50mg/kg (up to 6yrs then full dose)

A

Safety - Safety of pt/paramedic. Correct site, correct technique, correct disposal of sharps
Larger doses can be painful - dilution should be avoided
