PA Momentum Flashcards
What is momentum?
Momentum is the time it takes for a leg of price to form.
How do we measure momentum?
We can measure momentum by measuring the time it takes for an price to create an impulsive leg and how long it takes to retrace.
How do we use momentum?
We can use momentum to measure the market’s “want” to go a certain direction. If we use it with the HTF narrative, we can get a pretty clear idea of where price wants to go.
We can get insight into whether the current leg is PT or CT
What does impulsive PA/legs tell us?
Impulsive legs tell us where price is wanting to go. If price impulsively breaks structure and then has a corrective move back to the OB, that’s a strong sign that the OB will hold.
How can we use momentum as confluence for strong highs and lows and the HTF SOs?
When we see a very momentous move in the market, we can get a hunch that price is going to continue in that direction, especially if it aligns with the HTF SO.
