Entries Flashcards
How do we make sure we have the best entries?
We can make sure we have the highest probability entries by making sure that all of the other parts of our strategy align in our trade idea. Once that’s done, it’s just about getting into the trade on the CHOCH or OF continuation. (1M or seconds)
What’s the most important part of the entry?
The most important part of the entry is making sure the levels you’re trading from/into are gold and HP.
For EU, what are the 3 places we can enter?
These 3 are character traits for EU
- Extreme
- Flip
- Continuations (OF Ranges)
What do we do once price approaches our key levels?
When price approaches our key levels, we want to watch price on the LTF to watch the change in sentiment to align with the HTF narrative/our trade idea.
What’re the ideal 3 steps to an entry?
- LQ built before HTF POI (Liquidation)
- LQ swept into HTF POI (mitigation)
- A CHOCH and flip after the mitigation (CHOCH and flip)
No Question just read (or try to explain what’s going on)
- LQ being built and swept as price enters the POI shows orders in our favor (as you want to trade away from the sweep) being filled repeatedly.
- The mitigation of, and then the V shape recovery from the POI shows intent in our direction, validating the idea that orders are being pumped into the market.
- We then want to see both a COCH and flip. Ideally these should happen together, but the flip can happen after the CHOCH.
- Finally, we need to validate the POI we will use for entry - flip or extreme - and in general if the extreme has “done something” (like breaking structure for example - even if it’s minor), then we will place a limit on the extreme, and play a reaction o the decisional (need seconds for that). If the extreme hasn’t done anything, and the flip built LQ and swept it, then we’ll use the flip as our entry.
What happens if we miss the extreme/flip entry?
We can still stick to our HTF narrative and wait for continuation trades.
What sequence do we want to see for our entry model?
- LQ
- Mitigation
- CHOCH
- SD Flip
- Ideally a V shape recovery
When do we set a limit on the flip, and when do we set a limit on the extreme and play the reaction to the flip?
We will set a limit on the flip id the extreme DIDN’T cause a CHOCH, FLip, or BOS on the 1M or seconds TF.
We will set a limit on the extreme and play the reaction to the limit if it DID cause BOS, CHOCH, or flip on the 1M or seconds.
Can we use IB’s and wicks to classify CHOCH’s?
Yes. You can use inside bars and wicks to classify a CHOCH.
When can we use a 1M entry, and when can we use a 5S entry?
1M if it hits a 15M POI, Seconds entry if it hits the extreme or decisional entry.
We can also take the 5S CHOCH on the 1M CHOCH mitigation to be extra sure that the entry is valid.
What is important PA to look at for entries?
- CHOCH
- Flip
- OF chains
Where can we take 1M and 5S CHOCH’s?
We can take 1M CHOCH’s in 15M POI’s, and in the same way, we can only take 5S CHOCH’s in 1M POI’s (Except for in 15M POI refinements)
When can we use 5S entries?
Refinements in 15M structural POI
PT 15M OF POI
15M structural POI after 1M CHOCH
To confirm 1M CHOCH for mitigation after a 15M BOS
If we have a valid extreme, can we place a limit on the decisional?
No, we can place a limit on the extreme however and play a reaction to the decisional.
