Q

How do you find the density of an regular shaped object?

A
  1. Measure the mass of each object using a balance
  2. Measure the width, length and depth of each object with a ruler
  3. The volume is calculated by multiplying the three lengths together
  4. To calculate the density = mass divided my volume

Q

How do you find the volume irregular shaped object ?

A
  1. Measure the mass of the object using a scale ( displacement can)
  2. Then fill up a displacement can of water so it is full and ready to use
  3. Lower the object into water and hold and empty beaker
  4. Measure the volume of the displaced water
  5. Then use the equation of Density= mass divided volume
