-hang a spring from a clamp stand
-measure the initial length of the spring using a ruler
-add a 200g mass (force of 2N) to the end of the spring
-measure the final length of the spring using a ruler
-calculate the extension of the spring (final length - initial length)
-repeat, adding 200g mass (force of 2N) each time until reach a force of 10N
