Q

What does Electrical Resistance mean

A

Electrical resistance or resistance in a circuit is the opposition to the flow of charge.
Seen this symbol before? What is it called?
Resistance is measured in a unit called OHMS

Q

How do volts work in a parrel circut

A

The energy gets devided by the number of bulbs / components that use the energy eg 6 volts 3 bulbs, 2 volts per bulb.

Q

How do volts work in a parale circut

A

The volts of the imput become the volts by the bulbs however the bulbs use up the input faster.

Q

P4 length of a wire resistance equipment.

A

Equipment: Piece of wire to test,Low-voltage power supply, or battery pack,Variable resistor,Switch,Connecting leads (use your circuit diagram to work out how many), 2 crocodile clips,Heat-resistant mat(s) – enough to stop piece of wire from touching table,Ammeter,Voltmeter, Metre ruler

Q

P4 length of a wire resistance method

A

1 Write a prediction of what your investigation will find, based on the following hypothesis about why metals have resistance: electrons passing through a wire have to push their way through lots of vibrating ions in the metal.
2 Draw a diagram of the circuit you will use.
3 Write down the steps in your method, making them clear enough that
someone else could read it and understand exactly what to do.
4 Prepare a suitable results table.
5 Carry out your investigation.

Q

G.p.e -> kenetic

A

G.P.E energy store decreases and the kinetic energy store increases. Energy transferred to surrounding as heat and sound.

Q

Potential Difference equation

A
V = Potential Difference (V)
W = Work (J)                                     V=W/Q
Q = Charge (C)
