Q

If a power supply has a potential difference of 12V and is connected to a parallel circuit with 2 branches what is the p.d. at each branch?

A

The p.d. at each branch of a parallel circuit is the same, therefore it will be 12V at each branch.
V1 = V2 =V3

Q

If 3 identical bulbs are connected in parallel to a 3.5V battery, state the p.d. across each bulb.

A

As it is a parallel circuit - V1=V2=V3 therefore p.d.will always be 3.5V across any branch of the circuit
