What is the problem of firing nuclear waste into space?
The launch vehicle could fall back to earth and spread the waste over a large area
What is the problem with dumping nuclear waste into the ocean ?
Barrels can corrode and release audio active waste into the ocean which could get into the food chain
What is the problem with storing nuclear waste underground?
The site needs to be special e.g. Have a very low chance of earthquakes
What is half life?
The time it takes for half if the unstable nuclei in a sample of a radioactive isotope to decay
What is background radiation?
The constant, low exposure of radiation that we are constantly I experiencing
Why are gamma sources used as a tracer?
They pass straight through the body, allowing them to be detected
What is radiotherapy?
Using ionising radiation to cure certain diseases
