A timer starts and stops when an object interrupts the light beam

What does an ultrasound do?
A
Are high frequency sound waves to measure distance.The device measures the time taken for a pulse to travel there and back.It uses this value and the speed of the pulse, to workout the distance.

The SI unit of distance is the metre and the SI unit of time is the second.

What is the unit of conversion from metres to kilometres and metres to miles and seconds to hours?
A
1 kilometre = 1000 metres
1609 metres = 1 mile
