Elastic potential energy= 1/2 x spring constant x extension squared
What is the hookes law equation?
Force=spring constant x extension
What is the equation for work done?
Work done = force x distance
What are the equations for gravitational energy?
Gravitational energy = mass x gravitational field strength x height change
Gravitational energy= weight x height change

Gravitational force = mass x gravitational field strength
What are the principles of energy?
-energy is conserved it is never created or destroyed
-energy can be shifted from store to store. But when we shift energy around some is always ‘wasted’

Kinetic energy=1/2 x mass x velocity squared
What is the equation for wasted power?
Power wasted = total power in - useful power out
What is the equation for power?
Power =energy transferred to appliance / time taken for energy to be transferred
What is the equation for efficiency?
Efficiency = useful power out/ total power in
What does energy transfered equal ?
Energy transfered = work done
What is efficiency?
the ratio of useful energy output to the total energy input in a physical process or system, expressed as a percentage.
