What 4 things are in the Notice of Intent to Discipline?
- Notice of the proposed discipline

- Opportunity to examine evidence
- The right to respond to the notice
How long can disciplinary probation last?
No longer than 1 year for each such instance.
Can the chief remove any premium pay during discipline?
Yes.
If suspended, how long can that last?
It shall not exceed ninety calendar days in one calendar year
Can you have a reduction in salary or a demotion?

What are the steps for the supervisor when an employee is injured?
- Have employee seek treatment immediately
- Report to duty chief in death/serious injury. Contact Risk Management
- Provide DWC Form 1 document to employee
- Fill out “supervisors section” of DWC-1 and submit to HR within 24hrs
What do supervisors need to do with the Standards of Behavior? (2)
- Review the SoB doc with each new employee within 30 days of employment or assignment.
- Report any violations to BC or section head
Who should captains contact if there is help needed with a complaint?
Fire Prevention
What should employees do if contacted by an attorney or investigator regarding an incident?
They should refer such people to the Investigation Section of Fire Prevention Division
Are there exceptions to incident information being shared by floor personnel?
Yes, District Attorney & Sheriffs Office inquiries do not need to be referred to prevention

- Log all time spent in prep.

Decon of all clothing & equipment
what is a level 3 exposure of communicable disease?
a full exposure of fluids/blood by any type of route.
what is the action of a level 3 exposure?
full decon and initiate a report
if exposed, and consent for testing is not given, what does the supervisor do?
Request Health & Safety Code 1996.5 be implemented.
