Ozmandias Form?

A

sonnet love poem. A sonnet is a fourteen-line poem. Iambic pentameter a way to add rhythm to the poem in one specific way. Iambic pentameter mimics the human heartbeat in its rhythm often to symbolise that the words being spoken are from the heart, hence the tradition for using them in Sonnets.

there’s nothing left to show for the rulers arrogant boasting or his great civilisation. the ruined statues can be seen as a symbol for the temporary nature of politival power or human achievements

Ozmandias Language?

A

Language of Power
focus on ozymandias power reping human power. however power is lost and is only visible due to power of art. ultimatley nature has ruined the statue showing nature and time has more power then anything else
‘BOUNDLESS AND BARE…LONE AND LEVEL’ alliteration emphasises the feeling of empty space in surrounding desert
‘SANDS STRETCH FAR AWAY’ desert is vast and survives far longer then broken statues emphasising insignificance of statue and of Ozymandias

tyranny of ruler is suggested through agressive language
