2-4 litres for adults and given if patient oxygen is below 90%. With a nasal cannula a nurse should try and maintain the oxygen between
92–94%.

Oxygen given by Non-rebreathe mask
A
Can deliver 70–80% oxygen at 15 l/min

Oxygen given by Simple face mask
A
Can deliver between 40% and 60%

Humidified oxygen
A
Humidification produces a fine mist that is visible inside the mask. Can be given if a patients nose becomes dry with oxygen therapy, so it provides heat and moisture to the oxygen.
