Oxygen Tanks Flashcards
Difference between high-pressure regulators vs therapy regulators?
High pressure regulators are used to transfer oxygen at high pressures from tank to tank.
Therapy regulators are used to deliver oxygen from the tank to the patient.
All full oxygen tanks regardless of size, are filled to what psi?
2000psi
Type of tank material that would be white at the shoulder and silver around the base?
Aluminum tank.
Tanks that are green are commonly built of what material?
Steel.
Type D tanks contain how many litres of oxygen?
400L
Type M tanks have how many litres?
3450L
Oxygen tanks should be replaced at how much remaining psi?
500psi
What is safe residual pressure?
The remaining 500L in the tank when you would switch tanks.
What is the constant for type D tanks?
0.16
What is the constant for type M tanks?
1.56
Formula to determine tank life in minutes?
Gauge pressure - safe residual pressure divided by oxygen delivered in lpm times the constant.
GP - SRD/ LPM X Constant
