Also called the savannah charaxes or scarce forest emporer, it is a butterfly of the family Nymphalidae. It’s wingspan is 1.4-1.5 inches for males and 1.5-1.8 inches for females. It;s forewings are a heavy and dark blue with a greenish tint. The outer margins of its wings are denticulate with a series of white discal spots. Their hindwings have short tails with a series of blue patches. These butterfly are found in East and West Africa and in Madagascar. Their clade is the satyrine clade because they are of the subfamily charaxes.
