Overhead Panel - AQP Flashcards
What does turning on the DC Service switch do on the EPCP ?
Turning the switch on
- connects the DC Service bus directly to the APU BATT DIR BUS
(Normally powered by TRU 2 when AC power is available)
OFF: DC service bus is powered by TRU 2, if AC power is available
Battery Master Switch ON does what?
Connects the Main Battery and APU battery to the Battery Bus via the main battery Direct Bus and the APU battery Bus
OFF: Isolates the battery bus from the main and APU Battery Direct Busses
When does the AVAIL light for the APU on the EPCP mean?
AVAIL illuminates green to indicate the external AC power source is connected and is within limits (Voltage, phase and frequency)
What does the IN USE portion of the AC switchlight mean on the EPCP?
Illuminates to indicate that the external AC power unit is supplying the electrical system. AVAIL light will extinguish when the IN USE light illuminates
What does the FAULT light mean on the IDG disconnect switch?
Illuminates for:
- Low IDG oil pressure
- High IDG oil temperature
- NOTE IDG will automatically disconnect when a generator over temperature or overtorque condition occurs
What does the DISC on the IDG switchlight mean on the EPCP?
Press to disconnect the IDG. The DISC light illuminates white when the IDG has disconnected.
What does the ALTN mean on the AC ESS XFER switch on the EPCP?
It means it is not being powered by Bus 1
ALTN illuminates white when the AC ESS Bus is powered by AC Bus 2 (Normal source is Bus 1)
NOTE: If AC Bus 1 voltage or frequency is faulty, the AC Essential bus is automatically powered by AC Bus 2 and the switch illuminates (White)
This is monitored by the GCU (Generator Control Unit) and could take the AC BUS 1 offline, thru
- Over/Under Voltage
- Over/Under Frequency
- Generator and bus Over current
- Generator Phase Sequence
- AC Power Center
What does the OFF/RESET and AUTO on the Generator switch mean on the EPCP?
Disconnects the generator from the associated AC Bus
- Resets the generator control circuit
AUTO: Connects the generator to the associated Bus if all conditions are satisfied
What does the OFF/RESET and AUTO mean on the APU generator switch on the EPCP?
- Disconnects the APU generator from the AC Bus(es)
- Re-arms the generator control circuit
AUTO: Connects the APU generator to the AC Bus(es) if all conditions are satisfied
What does the FAIL light mean on the AUTO XFER switchlight (for the AC BUS) on the EPCP?
Illuminates for a bus fault (Priority/Auto transfer system automatically inhibited). Associated AC bus can not be powered by the APU or the offside generator and cannot be reset in the air
What does OFF mean on the AUTO XFER switchlight (for the AC bus) on the EPCP?
OFF: Press in to disable the priority/auto transfer system, OFF illuminates white. Press again to restore normal operation
What happens when you push in L/R BOOST PUMP switch on the FCP?
PUSH IN:
- During engine start - booth boost pumps operate
- Engine running - pumps are armed and automatically operate when low pressure is detected in either engine fuel feed line
What does the ON light mean on the L/R BOOST PUMP switchlight on the FCP?
ON - illuminates when the associated pump is operating
What does the INOP portion mean on the L/R BOOST PUMP switchlight on the FCP?
INOP : A low pressure condition has been detected in the associated engine feed line, the respective boost pump has not been armed, or has failed.
What does RELEASE OUT do on the L/R BOOST PUMP switchlight on the FCP?
RELEASE OUT: Disarms the respective boost pump
