Regarding the AC switch light, what does the illumination of the AVAIL portion indicate?
The system has the correct voltage, frequency, and phase. 115v, 400hz, and 3 phase
Regarding the IDG guarded switchlight, what does the illumination of the FAULT portion indicate?
The associated IDG has either high oil temp or low oil pressure.
What does the disc portion of the IDG mean? And why would this happen?
The DISC portion indicates the associated IDG has been disconnected either manually or due to high temperature or severe torque.
What does the illumination of the AC ESS XFER switch light indicate?
AC bus is not powering the AC Essential bus
When should a generator be reset?
When directed by the QRH
Regarding the Auto XFER switchlight, what does the illumination of the FAIL portion indicate?
The associated GCU has detected a BUS fault or generator over current.
Affected generator is taken offline.
GCU inhibits the auto transfer system on that side.
Associated AC BUS can no longer be powered by the APU or offside.
What does the off portion of the AUTO XFER switchlight indicate?
Disables the auto transfer system on that side.
Can be reset
What is associated with a successful fire test?
FIRE SYS OK
Red LH ENG, RH ENG, and APU FIRE PUSH switch light illuminate.
Green LH, RH, and APU armed push to discharge switchlights illuminate.
Both master warning flashers illuminate.
FWD and AFT cargo smoke push switch lights illuminate.
Cargo bottle armed push to discharge switch light illuminate
What is the function of the L/R HYD SOV guarded switchlight?
To interrupt the flow of hydraulic fluid to the associated engine driven pump.
Regarding the L or R boost pump, what does the INOP portion and the ON portion indicate?
INOP- the pump outlet psi is too low
ON- the pump pressure is satisfactory
What does the fail portion of the Gravity XFLOW switchlight indicate?
The gravity cross flow valve is not in the commanded position.
Regarding the L or R XFLOW switch lights, what does the fail portion of the switch light indicate? The ON portion?
Fail-The cross flow valve failed to energize.
On- cross flow pump energized, fuel directed into low tank.
Explain the function of the XFLOW Auto Override switchlight, pressed in/out.
Pressed in, arms the crossflow pump for manual operation and inhibits the auto crossflow function ( switch is illuminated)
Pressed out, crossflow pump is disarmed for manual use and auto crossflow is available.
Wing A/I Cross Bleed rotary switch
From left, the right wing anti icing valve is closed and the cross bled valve opens allowing bleed air from the left engine to provide anti icing to both wings.
BLEED VALVES Rotary switch - AUTO
Allows for automatic operation of the bleed valves
BLEED VALVES rotary switch - CLSD
Selects the valves to the closed position
BLEED VALVES rotary switch - manual
The bleed source and position of the ISOL valve can be manually controlled.
ISOL toggle switch- CLSD
CLSD allows the valve to open automatically when the APU LCV is opened, during cross bleed starts and cycled open/closed during the automatic transfer of bleeds between the APU and engines.
ISOL toggle switch - OPEN
Allows manual operation of the valve in conjunction with the BLEED VALVE rotary switch in the manual position.
Engine bleed valves are controlled by?
ACSC 2 air conditioning system controllers
Bleed valves are limited to _ psi?
45 psi by the ACSC’s
BLEED SOURCE rotary switch both
The left and right engine bleed valves are open, the APU LCV is closed
BLEED SOURCE rotary switch L ENG
The left engine bleed valve is opened. The right engine bleed valve is closed and the APU LCV is closed.
BLEED SOURCE rotary switch R ENG
The right engine bleed valve is open and the Left engine and the APU LCV are closed.
APU PWR Fuel switch
Pressed in ECU is powered, APU IN BITE status message APU SOV OPEN status message Inlet door opens RPM and EGT on EICAS 2 Fuel pump comes on
PUMP Fail portion of the APU
The fuel pump has failed
SOV FAIL switch light APU
The APU SOV is not in the commanded position
Start/stop switchlight on APU
Pressed in ignition is activated
Starter motor is energized
Fuel solenoid opens
APU start status message is displayed
L/R Start switch light
Pressed in, isolation valve opens
Associated start valve opens
Start switch light illuminates
L or R engine start status message displayed
STOP switch light
Discontinues the start sequence by closing the air turbine starter valve
CONT switch light
Vicinity of thunderstorms
Moderate rain
Moderate turbulence
Contaminated runway
Hydraulics- Toggle switch 1 (1B) 3B, and 2 (B) AUTO, ON,OFF
AUTO allows pump 1b to operate when its respective bus is powered and at least 1 generator is online, flaps are greater than zero
ON pump operates when its respective bus is powered, one gen online, regardless of flap position
OFF pump is off
Hydraulics - toggle switch 3a
On pump is on
Off pump is off
MAN ALT toggle switch. Up/down and hold
Controls the cabin pressurization in manual mode.
Up/down commands the cabin altitude to climb or descend.
Hold holds the selected cabin altitude
EMER DEPRESS guarded switch light
Pressed in the manual DC motor will drive the outflow valve to fully open and depressurizes the cabin to 14,500. If below 14,500, the plane fully depressuizes.
MAN RATE rotary switch
Controls the rate of change of the cabin altitude in manual mode
L PACK switch lights
Pressed in supplies the flight deck through the mixing manifold.
R PACK switchlight
Supplies the cabin with air from the mixing manifold.
FAULT on pack switch light
Indicates either an over temp or over pressure
Off portion of pack light
The associated pack is off
RECIRC toggle switch on/off
On energizes both recirculating fans.
Off de - energizes both fans
RAM AIR guarded switch
Open allows air from the ram air scoop to enter the mixing manifold. Supplies flight deck and pax cabin ventilation. Use only when depressurized. Max alt 15,000 ft.
L and R MAN switch lights (ac)
Pressed in allows for manual control of the airflow thru the pack by the temp control valve.
HOT/COLD toggle switches
Increases or decreases flight deck or pax cabin in manual mode
WSHLD LH and RH TOGGLE SWITCHES
