Criteria for Overcall
10 - 17 pts and good 5 card suit
Overcall 2 level bid
For 2M - 13 HCP+5 card suit or 10 HCP + 6 card suit
Overcall 1NT
15 - 18 HCP, balanced hand, stoppers in opponents bid suit
Overcall Advancer - Raise 1 level
6 - 9 HCP
Overcall Advancer - 1NT
9 - 10 HCP with stopper in suit
Overcall Advancer - 2NT
13 - 14 pts
Overcall Advancer - 3NT
15 - 16 pts
Criteria for TOD
Shortness in opponents suit (2 or fewer)
Tolerance in other suits (3 or more)
12+ points (HCP + shortness)
TOD response
- Bid best suit (other than opener’s) at lowest level
0 - 8 pts
- not balanced hand or no stopper
TOD response
- Bid best suit (other than opener’s)
- Jump one level
9 - 11 pts
- not balanced hand or no stopper
TOD response
- Bid best suit (other than opener’s) to game
12+ pts
- not balanced hand or no stopper
What is a TOD cue bid
Bid opponents suit up one level
Tells partner you have two major suits that are equally good
TOD response
- Bid lowest NT possible
8 - 10 pts
- Balanced hand and stopper in opponents suit
TOD response
- Jump an NT level
11 - 12 pts
- Balanced hand and stopper in opponents suit
TOD response
- 3 NT
13-15 pts
- Balanced hand and 2 stopperd in opponents suit
