Popular sovereignty
Power of government is derive from the consent of its people.
Natural Rights
Fundamental rights granted at birth (Life, Liberty, Property, Pursuit of Happiness)
REpublicanism
governing a nation where power is mostly held by the people/elected representatives
Social Contract
Agreement between gov. and people must give up some rights for protection by government.
Monarchy
Single ruler ruling over state

Small group ruling over state

Gov. is accountable TO the people.
