What is the purpose of an Output Device?
To display the information.
What is a pixel?
A pixel is a bit inside your screen is showing a bit of your display. The higher the number of pixels, the better.
What is a Smart TV?
It is a Tv that can connect to the internet without streaming device or top box.
What is meant by hard copy?
A copy that is printed out. It is not saved on the internet.
Give one advantage and one disadvantage of Laser Printers:
Advantage:
High quality printouts - better than ink-jet or dot-matrix
Disadvantage:
Most expensive printer type to buy, especially colour lasers
Give one advantage and one disadvantage of Ink-Jet Printers:
Advantage:
Cheap to buy - cheaper than a laser printer
Disadvantage:
Noisier than a laser printer (but not as noisy as a dot-matrix)
What sort of task would require the use of a Plotter rather than a Laser or ink-jet printer?
Plotters are a specialist type of printer which is able to draw high quality images on very large pieces of paper, for example 3 foot wide by 10 foot long. The task is technical drawing.
Give a reason why Touch Screens are commonly used in cashpoints.
Touch screens are easy to use and are often found in public places such as cashpoints at banks, ticket collection terminals at theatres or airports, information centers at museums.
Why might a Digital Projector be used at Home?

Why would external speakers be used even though the computer had an internal one?
Everyone in the classroom can hear.

When would Headphones be used even though the computer had an internal speaker?
It doesn’t annoy other people.
It can only be heard by one user.
Give a common example of a use of computer controlled lights.
It gives light on day and changes to dark mode at night.
